Pool Heating and Domestic Water Heating Preferred Vendor: FAFCO

Just as we here at POCO Solar happily stick to SunPower photovoltaic panels, so, too, we remain committed to FAFCO brand products for all of our domestic water and pool heating needs. As another California-based company that has been working through the decades to ease the transition to clean, renewable energy, we proudly support FAFCO's quality products and consistent commitment to creating new, increasingly more efficient technologies.

FAFCO products prove notable especially for their use of a patented unglazed polymer material in their domestic water heating and pool heating systems. From a practical homeowner perspective -- and for those of us installing the systems! -- the lightweight material is a cinch to work with. Lightweight does not equate to weak, however, and the polymer withstands the test of time, remaining dependably durable throughout the years.

But how so?  A common problem among solar water heating systems is fluid overheating, causing the breakdown of heat transfer chemical compounds that slowly corrode pipes and compromise the system's anti-freeze capabilities.  FAFCO's new 500 Series domestic water heating system, released in September 2010, uses a glycol-based solution for heat transfer in the tank that prevents water in rooftop solar collectors from freezing when temperatures drop.  Safely comprised of FAFCO's unglazed polymer material pipes, your domestic water heating system has a long lifetime of solar energy conversion ahead of it.

In addition to heating water for your home, pool owners will be happy to know that FAFCO provides a solar energy based pool heating system, as well.  Rather than reserving time in the pool for days when it's warm enough outside, opt for heat from a clean energy source.  FAFCO's system, which operates by pumping cold water from the pool through solar collector panels, heating it to the appropriate temperature and evenly distributing the solar-heated water back to the pool, allows you to swim comfortably even on those days the sun isn't shining.  You might not be able to work on your tan, but you can still do some laps without shivering!

FAFCO, based out of Chico, California, fafco logohas been lauded by the likes of the Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy for its efficient water-heating technologies developed since its inception in 1969.  In fact, it was FAFCO, teamed with the Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory, that created the globe's first commercial domestic water heating system in 1998.  As pioneers and experts of many decades here at POCO Solar, we are committed to the finest in solar system products.  With expert FAFCO material and seasoned POCO installation, we can make your transition to solar energy an easy one.
